Post-Surgical Fibrosis Therapy
Fibrosis is the formation of excess fibrous connective tissue that can develop following surgery, particularly liposuction and other cosmetic procedures. As the body heals, this tissue may become hardened, thickened, or adhered to surrounding structures, creating lumps, uneven texture, tightness, and restricted movement.
With specialized training in post-surgical fibrosis treatment, I offer targeted therapeutic techniques designed to improve tissue mobility, soften areas of hardened fibrosis, reduce restrictions, and support your body’s natural healing process. Sessions may include Red Light Therapy where appropriate.
What to Expect During Treatment
Unlike traditional relaxation massage, fibrosis therapy involves focused, sometimes intensive techniques to address areas of hardened or restricted tissue. Treatment may feel uncomfortable at times, particularly in areas with significant fibrosis or adhesions. Your comfort and safety remain a priority, and pressure and techniques will be adjusted according to your tolerance and stage of healing.
Some techniques may temporarily cause redness, tenderness, bruising, or visible marks as the tissue is mobilized. These effects are not necessary for successful treatment (though they are at times, unavoidable), techniques are adapted to minimize unnecessary irritation or tissue trauma.
Healing Takes Time
Fibrosis develops over time, and improving tissue mobility is often a gradual process. Multiple sessions are typically recommended, depending on the severity, location, and age of the fibrosis. While many clients seek treatment to improve comfort, flexibility, and tissue texture, individual responses vary, and specific results cannot be guaranteed.
My goal is to provide knowledgeable, individualized care that supports your recovery, encourages healthier tissue mobility, and helps you feel more comfortable and confident in your body.
Treatment is appropriate only once surgical tissues have healed sufficiently and any necessary medical clearance has been obtained.
